We are delighted no announce that New Zealand personality Walter Neilands will be joining the Kidney Kids family as our new Kids Ambassador. The 25 year old has a great rapport with children. Not only is his forte to entertain, his infectious positivity allows Walter to educate and connect with children of all ages.

Born in the little town of Tuakau and raised in the bustling city of Auckland, Walter always new his career would be in film and television. However after graduating from Pukekohe High School, Walter jetted off overseas to spend a summer at Camp America. As a Camp Councillor, Walter mentored youngsters during their summer break, teaching them countless activities from performing arts to outdoor hiking. This immediately sparked Walter’s passion for working with children.

Upon returning to New Zealand, Walter’s determination to break into the television industry was stronger than ever. Walter’s dream came true when he landed a role on a popular kid’s television programme. Walter, who often has children say a friendly hello to him while he’s out and about, takes pride in being a role model for his young fans. Talking about his new partnership with Kidney Kids, Walter is “honoured” to be working alongside a not-for-profit that has already made such an impact on the lives of New Zealand children suffering from kidney disease and disorders.

Keith and the team at Kidney Kids are excited about the new addition, “the presence of a fresh, young ambassador is going to be awesome for Kidney Kids. Jonah was amazing, but it’s with his legacy that we can move forward with someone new”. Walter’s enthusiasm and willingness to help, along with his love for children makes Kidney Kids incredibly grateful to welcome him as our new Kid’s Ambassador.
