Kidney Kids Camps

DISCLAIMER: It has come to our attention that there are currently individuals and other kidney organisations fundraising within New Zealand under the auspices of Kidney Kids. These individuals and organisations are claiming to be raising funds for a Kidney Kids camp. Please be aware that there are multiple kidney societies in New Zealand but Kidney Kids is the ONLY organisation that provides camps for children with Kidney Disease. Kidney Kids supports over 1500 families and children throughout New Zealand and has four camps for our children. These camps cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars and provide a safe and supportive environment for our kids to interact and have fun. We are receiving NO portion or percentage or funding in any way from these individuals and organisation currently fundraising under the title of Kidney Kids Camps. Kidney Kids does conduct a legitimate fundraising scheme for our children and our camps and this occurs during November, December and January every year.

Every year Kidney Kids of NZ organises camps for our children. These camps are essential trips away for our Kidney Kids who sometimes can not go on other ordinary camps because of their medical needs. Our camps are different - the kids are all taking medicines, or on dialysis, or being careful about something! We have nurses and doctors in attendance and the kids have great fun with others who are in the same situation.

In November 2009 Kidney Kids held our first ever Big Kidney Kids Camp for our very special group of 18-21yr old Kidney Kids in the Gold Coast, Australia. The camp was a huge success and as a result we will be making it a bi-annual event. Thank you to Draculas, Australias Outback Spectacular, SeaWorld, MovieWorld, DreamWorld, White Water World, Australias Zoo, Diamond Beach Resort and Bus Queensland. With out the support of your organisations our camp would not have been possible. A very special thank you also to Southern Stars Charitable Trust and the Rotary Club of Newmarket who supported our camp through grant funding. Check out the photos!!!

The Annual Junior Camp was held on March the 26th, 27th & 28th 2010 at Carey Park in Henderson. Again this camp was hugely successful and thoroughly enjoyed by the 36 children in attendance. Thank you Carey Park, Crystal Mountain, Treasure Island Mini Golf, Butterfly Creek and Action Raceway for your support of our kids and the continuation of our camps.
