About Us
Kidney Kids of NZ is a parent driven organisation set up to meet the needs of children, and the families of children, who have kidney disorders.
We aim:
- To give Kidney Kids the best life possible.
- To offer their families the best support and information available.
- To educate all New Zealanders on the early warning signs of Kidney and Urinary Tract disease.
We are a place where parents can:
- Receive emotional support from other parents who have "been there".
- Get information on their child’s condition.
- Share social occasions.
- Read our regular newsletter.
- Come to education evenings where they can meet a specialist to talk to about their child’s condition.
We also help parents to find an advocate to help them work effectively with agencies providing services for their children.

Social Activities
We organise support group meetings, coffee mornings, educational evenings, and special events. Our biggest events each year are the annual camps. These camps are especially for kids who are in end-stage renal failure or who have had transplants. For more information on these camps click here.
Information and Resources
We provide information and resources to parents and to children by providing books, videos, and pamphlets plus other parents to talk with, both locally and nationally.
Community Liaison
We develop and maintain community networks by being involved in community activities, attending meetings, and liaising with the media as appropriate.
Human Resources
Kidney Kids of NZ employ a support co-ordinator to provide services to parents full-time. The co-ordinator and the voluntary Kidney Kids regional support team members are parents of children with kidney disorders.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Staff keep accurate client and financial records so that we remain accountable to families, funders and other stakeholders.
